Willis Bond invests $200m in major workplace projects
Willis Bond is investing in the future of Wellington’s business community with more than $200 million committed to three major workplace projects.
From the exciting new 110 Jervois Quay project, through to the recently completed Bell Gully Building and the under-construction Blue Mountains Campus in Upper Hutt, the investment will benefit businesses both in the city centre and beyond.
Managing Director (Development) David McGuinness says “businesses want safe, sustainable, vibrant workplaces that help attract the best talent. Modern commercial space needs to offer much more than it has in the past.”
“Our latest commercial projects have green spaces, exceptional architecture, next-level resiliency, sustainability and staff wellbeing at the centre of their design.”
Wellington’s next generation office offerings underway
Set to be one of Wellington’s most connected and desirable new city office projects, 110 Jervois Quay comprises 14,000sqm of flexible, large format office space on a prime section of Jervois Quay with easy access to the CBD and waterfront.
Located on what was previously the Michael Fowler Centre carpark, the building will occupy a prime island site overlooking Jervois Quay towards Wellington’s harbour. It will also be surrounded by newly landscaped areas incorporating mature Pohutukawa trees and new public spaces.
“110 Jervois Quay will set a new standard for Wellington workplaces, as one of the most impressive, architecturally inspired buildings we’ve built in the city,” says McGuinness.
In Upper Hutt, Willis Bond’s Blue Mountains Campus is a resilient, sustainable, and amenity rich 32,000sqm office campus. It has been recognised as Government Property Group’s first regional hub, with both KiwiRail and MBIE preparing to occupy new premises in the campus in mid-2023. Like 110 Jervois Quay, the campus features established native trees and extensive green spaces for occupants to enjoy.
Both 110 Jervois Quay and Blue Mountains Campus deliver large, light, adaptable spaces, generous end-of-trip facilities for cyclists, walkers and runners, on-site café amenities for breaks and casual meetings and superior sustainability performance with Green Star and NABERSNZ-rated premises.
“It’s clear that Wellingtonians are ready to get back to the workplace with businesses strongly supporting the move towards more resilient, flexible office space,” continues McGuinness.
“Our recently completed Bell Gully Building development on Wellington’s waterfront is 100 percent leased and tenants are really enjoying their new workspaces.
“This investment across the region exemplifies our belief that the Wellington region is an exceptional place to live and work, and that we’re committed to rejuvenating it for future generations of businesses to enjoy,” concludes McGuinness.
Planning works are well progressed for 110 Jervois Quay, with Willis Bond now seeking expressions of interest from commercial tenants. Blue Mountains Campus Stage 1 works are due to be complete in mid-2023, with some commercial space still available to lease in the Upper Hutt campus.
